Im pretty new to the watch game. Can anybody recommend some nice, square faced watches? Mid ranged price, silver or stainless preffered, though I wouldnt say no to a nice gold one. Thanks!

Not bad, not bad. I like it. I currently have a bulova accutron from 1977 I believe. Looking to add some more variety to the collection.

I have a couple watches and have not worn them in a long time.

Seems to be a popular little guy. I’m more into vintage watches but I do like the look of this one. Especially with the stainless steel band.

Me either, though for a different reason likely. Mines currently in for repairs :(
Why don’t you wear yours often?

Yeah, I’m a fan of Skagen’s stuff. (disclosure: I own 0 watches)

This could be a complicated answer, I have thought about this before! Well I’m a rigger for shows, for work, so I go up in a boom lift and everything is metal and I would break it instantly there, and it would get caught on things and that would be bad or a safety concern. Then I go home and since I have my phone it just seems redundant and it’s nice to have nothing on my wrist I guess. Glasses and watches are like the men’s bling show off (just watch F1 post race coverage). I have an Omega Speedmaster moon watch and the only people who ever complimented me on it were guys who obviously play golf and vote Republican so I guess it isn’t my style. I like it but I might have to wait until I’m old to wear it, I feel silly. I have a phone to tell the time, so the watch is there only to show a fancy thing I spent money on. Just like at Cars and Coffee I hang with guys of all kinds but they work on their cars, and then a guy shows up with a new P1, no plates and wants to be a car guy, but it doesn’t really feel like that. That’s my watch issue, not sure if it makes sense! I could just be a crazy veteran, hard to tell sometimes. It’s better that I work up in my lift by myself.

Define midrange price. I would happily give some suggestions, but need a bit more info.

Brew! Very cheap, nice design and superbly made. If snobby watch people (like me) gave it high praise, its probably good enough.

On a car enthusiast website, only one answer applies. Price might be an issue, so look for a Monaco homage.

Republic Watches have square cases, but the face/dial is still round.

Nope, makes sense to me! With electrical work, wearing a watch can be downright dangerous, and id be afraid to screw it up doing anything mechanical, or welding.
Also, you pretty much summed up why I’m not really interested in supercars anymore.

Let’s say <1000. Which I suppose would be a bit less than mid range in the world of watches I suppose.

Nice! A classy looking piece. Their website was fairly well done as well. I’ll have to keep them in mind.

A bit spendy for me at the moment. They do seem to be really nice pieces but they’re a little busy for my taste.

I like em. Nice and simple. Took me a second to find them though.

This one is not busy at all but is still pricey. Tons of cheap homages though

Yeah, I sell watches that run into the millions, so always have to get perspective. You might be able to find a vintage Cartier Tank under $1k for steel, otherwise right in that range would be Raymond Weil Tango(retail will be higher, but you can definitely get a discount). Little lower end,(roughly $300) I like Seiko Recraft automatics.... All of these will give you a slightly vintage style.

If you want actual vintage, Hamilton used to make some great things, and they are usually in the 750-1500 range for good condition from the 1950's

Got mine through our company’s subsidized health program. The real-time heart rate monitoring is pretty cool, as is having charts of your workout. And it’s low-key enough not to look like a G-Shock.

Some great info. Thanks! I like those quit a bit actually. The Cartier is pretty classy, and the green face of the seiko is different without being obnoxious.
